Matilda Bay is a wonderful place that holds a special place in my heart. During my PhD, I spent countless hours enjoying the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views of the Swan River. The place is simply enchanting, and the swan river view is truly mesmerizing. The calm waters and the lush greenery around it make it a perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.What makes Matilda Bay even more special is the abundance of recreational activities available here. You can take a stroll along the river, have a picnic with your family and friends, or simply relax and soak in the tranquility of the surroundings. It's an ideal spot for birdwatchers, and you can often spot a variety of birds around the bay, specially the Black Swan, Seagals.

Absolutely stunning views over the iconic Swan River. Plenty of parkland for picnics, plenty of parking and walkways close to the water.

Gets busy at weekend but it is a general spot to cool.down and have a picnic. Lots of shade for those hot days

Beautiful grassed and shady spot on the Swan River. Perfect for a picnic with friends and family. You can go for a lovely walk along the waters edge or swim, kayak, or paddle in the water.

Lovely spot for a wedding or celebration. The grass, the river, the trees are all lovely and you often see swans and other birds around. Always a pleasure to visit and/or do photography there!

Beautiful areas to walk yourself or your dog! Stunning views and shady places to sit.Even enjoyed a visit and walk around UWA, was a very pleasant afternoon.
